Most territory of Siberia has untouched nature due to the low density of population. Multiple climatic zones and unique locations make this region a first-class option for any film crew that is looking for unusual and powerful images. Unique natural and man-made places like the biggest freshwater lake in the world and the longest railway in the world are waiting for you!

Warnings and Dangers visiting Siberia

  • Throughout Siberia the climatic conditions are really hard. Please doublecheck you equipment and don't hesitate to ask for advice or help from locals. It's much better to realize that your jacket is too thin being in the hotel than to find this out in the middle of nowhere

  • Travelling to siberia make sure you have sufficient cash with you. ATMs can be found only in major cities and most hotels and restaurants in the rural area do not accept cards

Filming permits for filming in Siberia

  • At many places in Siberia it's possible to film without getting special filming permits. If you plan to film at a Natural Reserve you may be requested to get an authorization from local authorities. Filming at the Trans-Siberian Express (Trans-Siberian Railroad) requires a permit from Russian Railways. Send us the list of locations you plan to visit and we'll send you the list of permits needed.

Filming equipment rental in Siberia

  • RED cameras and camcoders  can be rented in Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok

  • Equipment for DSLR cameras can be rented in Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk

  • Other equipment (Arri Alexa, steadicams, active heads, etc.) has to be brought from Moscow or Saint Petersburg

Transport services in Siberia

  • In big cities in Siberia it's possible to rent a van for the filming period or to rent a car for the crew

  • Some distant locations in Siberia are accessible only by helicopter or on a hovercraft. Building up the logistics of an expedition to a hard-to-reach place in Siberia may take some time as it may require hiring a military truck or an ATV.
